Bogs in the Borders

A trip to celebrate a very close friend's big Birthday 30.  I was allowed 3 stops in 5 windy hours of climbing up and down the beautiful Cheviots.

Somewhere in the Borderlands between Scotland and England, England.

Pembrokeshire coastal conveniences

The annual family pilgrimage to the coast of west Wales provides plenty of stunning views during convenience breaks.  Long may Pembrokeshire stay so beautiful and so quiet.

Coastal path around St David's, Pembrokeshire, Wales.

Another cycle.

This is another faux-loo spot, since I did need the loo here, but couldn't scale the gate in my cleats.  (I'm still learning how to move with them on, after being loaned the beautiful blue Azealas, captured resting in the forefront.)  The fields are looking beautiful with the oil-seed rape in flower.  (We'll forget about the biodiversity-bleak monoculture for now.)

On a cycle, out east of Oxford, Oxfordshire.

On the plot.

The luscious dried-out ditch just behind me allotment provides a suitably secluded spot to take a tiddle.  Becomes more of a challenge in the winter, with allotments on three sides and a river path on the other.  The summer challenge is only stinging nettles.

On the allotments, south of Port Meadow, Oxford, Oxfordshire.

Borderlands

This post is cheating a bit too, since I didn't actually tinkle in this spot, but I did need to and since it was my friend's 'garden', showed a bit of self-control.  It was a beautiful peaceful spot at the top of this prince's land, looking out to the Peak District.  The sun was going down and it was a bit magic....as was the whole trip.

Pit stop OX...

Another cycle pit stop.  A bit less picturesque; viewing a reservoir that waters surrounding crop fields.  Served the purpose, none-the-less.

Around Oxford, Oxfordshire.

Inner city class.

Cheating a bit, as I never actually used this one, but I thought it was worth recorded. A prime example of fine-bogging for Berliners and the passing tourist.

  Gendarmarkt, Berlin, Germany.

A magical loch-side adventure.

We never returned the ring, but we did manage to summit before the snow closed in again. Ginger beer sustained us as we tramped through enchanted woodlands to get to the snow-covered hill-top.

  Loch Lomond, outside Glasgow, Scotland.

Cliff-top stop

One of the many cliff-top spots used on long walks, on the family summer holiday. It's not always as sunny as this; wind-direction is often a consideration, and rain-exposure.

  Pembrokeshire coastal path, Wales.

One of my favourite fields.

A cycle pit stop.

  Around Oxford town, Oxfordshire.

Dunny scapes

This blog has been in the offing for some months now. Having spent quite a considerable part of my life going to the loo, I've had the privilege of experiencing some diverse dunny spots, in remote, beautiful and bizarre locations. As testament to the opportunities I've had, and continue to have, I thought I would record my unusual toilet stops. To those stops that go forever unrecorded, I dedicate this website....and to the enduring power of nature and its powers of decomposition.
